It's important to me that our kids don't grow up to be selfish or brats. So for the past two years I've partnered with Perfect Heart Shelter for Women and Children (located in Atlanta) on each of my sons' birthdays (Phoenix 4/19 and Elijah 12/24) to show them the importance of helping others. Last year for Elijah's 3rd birthday party, each guest was paired with a child from the shelter to buy a Christmas gift for. This year, other organizations provided toys so party guests were asked to bring checks and money orders payable to Perfect Heart Shelter. Elijah raised $900 for his 4th Birthday party @ Kangazoom in Smyrna, GA. He still had plenty of gifts and fun for himself :) Phoenix raised $500 last April at his Superhero birthday bash.
