Chicago Hip-Hop group The Cool Kids have struck an innovative deal with Mountain Dew's record label Green Label Sounds to release their highly anticipated first official full-length album, When Fish Ride Bicycles.
The group, which consists of Chuck Inglish and Mickey Rocks, will drop their full length on Green Label via iTunes, with all of the profits from the release going directly to The Cool Kids.
The Cool Kids worked with Green Label Sound in 2008, when they dropped the exclusive single "Delivery Man." According to group member Chuck Inglish, the label is a perfect fit for The Cool Kids.
"They agree with our purpose; they support our sound and they just want to see it happen - no BS," group member Chuck Inglish said in a press release, while Mikey Rocks commented that he liked having a "hip platform to put our album out while having the creative control that we require to make something crazy."
The Cool Kids have enlisted the services of hit making producer Pharrell Williams, who is helping to develop When Fish Ride Bicycles, which is due in stores this Spring.
The Cool Kids will hit the stage on March 18th, during Green Label's showcase at this year's SXSW music festival in Austin Texas.
Other performers will include Mac Miller, Classixx, Chromeo and MNDR.
